Bring the costs together and check whether your resources cover the entire project.
The budget adds every cost plus a contingency on works and finishes. Resources are savings plus expected borrowing. The balance is resources minus cost. Exclude any household emergency fund you want to keep untouched. Loan principal funds the project; it is not an additional project cost.
A Spanish self-build budget needs more than a square-metre rate. Work backwards from your total funds and check which costs sit outside the building contract.
